Melon Citrus Fizz

I am quite proud of this cocktail if I may say so myself.

I segmented a navel orange and muddled it with a melon a a few slices of lemon. I used gin and shook it with some ice. Poured it into chilled, sugar rimmed glasses, and topped it with 7up a a slice of lemon on the rim.



So refreshing! Definitely a great drink for summer nights...or afternoons. Maybe even throw a sprig of mint in there? Enjoy!

Chicken Sausage & Brasied Kale

This is a great hearty, winter meal. We used chicken sausage for ours, but you can use any kind to change it up how you like. 
We chopped up the shiitake mushrooms and dry sauteed them, then set them aside. The red onions we diced and fried until soft and golden, then added in the halved cherry tomatoes. We let them both simmer in the cherry juices with a few lemon wedges for about 5 min. Separately, we braised the kale, and then added it, along with the cooked sausage and mushrooms, to the onion and tomatoes. And just to finish it off, we topped it with a fried egg.

Roasted Garlic & Anchovy Spaghetti

We both had worked late and wanted to make something simple, but still a little bit different. We found a recipe for spaghetti with garlic and anchovies, and added a few things ourselves. I've never cooked with anchovies before so this was new for me.
Along with the garlic and anchovies, we added cherry tomatoes, tossed it with fresh bunched arugula and capers and sprinkled with some parmesan cheese.




Soo delicious!
